Aleah Koury allows nature to tell its own story in his richly textured artworks. Born in Bellingham, Washington, and raised in Independence, Missouri, Koury didn’t set out to be an artist, but a biologist. Taking a painting class to fulfill a fine arts requirement proved to be a life-altering decision, leading to a B.A. in ceramics and then an M.F.A. in printmaking.
