Antoni Tapies

Antoni Tapies is a Spanish Catalan painter born in Barcelona in 1923. He is one of the great European abstract expressionists and perhaps the best-known Catalan artist to emerge in the period since the Second World War. Tapies helped co-found a movement in Spain known as Dau-al-Set, which was connected to the Surrealism and Dadaism.
